Our Story

The practice was opened in Kamloops in 1967 by the original Dr. Armstrong. The practice was then taken over by Dr. Armstrong’s two children Dr. John Armstrong and Dr. Margaret Sutherland who continue to practice there today.

Dr. Kler joined the practice in 2021 and together they continue to provide exceptional dental care that holds the same values now as it did when the practice opened over 50 years ago, taking care of each patient as a friend and a neighbour.

Dr. Ash Kler

Dr. Kler graduated from University of Alberta in 1991. Dr. Kler and his wife Shannon have recently moved to Kamloops from Vancouver where Dr. Kler was a dentist for 29 years. With four grown children out of the nest, Dr. Kler and his wife decided to relocate to Kamloops to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and the comforts of a small community.

When Dr. Kler is not in the office he spends his time, golfing, trying out new recipes and exploring the Kamloops trails with his dog, Murphy.

Dr. John Armstrong

Dr. Armstrong graduated in 1990 from UBC’s Faculty of Dentistry. Dr. Armstrong and his wife Lori have enjoyed living and raising their daughter and son in Kamloops, both who are recent engineering graduates.

When not in the office Dr. Armstrong can commonly be found cycling local roads and trails, skiing Sun Peaks or donning his hiking boots. Once a year neighbours may note him perched on his ladder cleaning out his Bluebird boxes.

Dr. Margaret Sutherland

Dr. Sutherland graduated from UBC School of Dentistry in 1988. After working as a dentist in Manitoba and Ontario she returned home in 1993 to raise her family and join the family dental practice with her brother, Dr. Armstrong.

Dr. Sutherland and her husband Hugh raised their children Kamloops and are happy to call this community home. What Dr. Sutherland enjoys most about being a dentist is “our patients and staff; and keeping smiles healthy and functional as well as good looking”.
